What an honorand privilege it is to serve as Elementary Principal at First Baptist Christian Academy. In May of 2012, I was invited to come and visit the school and interview for the secondary principal’s position. Once I was on the campus with the teachers and kids, I sensed something truly special about this school and knew this is where God was calling me to be. Over the past 32 years, I have the opportunity to teach elementary and secondary students, develop curriculum, train teachers, and serve as an administrator.
My post secondary studies began at West Texas State A & M University in Canyon, Texas where I received a Bachelor of Music degree and earned my teaching certification. After graduating from WT, I traveled to New York City where I attended the Juilliard School for two years. There I earned another Bachelor’s Degree of Music and a Master’s of Music. I have also earned certifications in Gifted and Talented education and have earned my principal's certification through the Texas Education Agency and the Association of Christian Schools International.
I love music and enjoyed playing the oboe and English horn for 36 years. I reached a time in my life when I felt I needed to step away from performing and began devoting my life to the service of the Lord. God tugged at my heart in a powerful way and instilled in me a heart for ministry and reaching the un-churched. I currently serve with Creek Kids at Clear Lake Community Church at the Clear Lake Campus. I have always prayed and asked God to place me where He wants me for His glory, and I believe that is why I am here at FBCA.
I love the fact that all of our students are being taught and exposed to the truth about Jesus Christ on a daily basis, as well as being challenged academically. I feel our students have an awesome opportunity. I believe they will grow up in a manner which will equip them for a Christ-filled life, and I am excited to be able to watch that happen!
