Room Moms
Thank you in advance for signing up for this very important job. Our Room Mom orientation meeting is September 14, 2010.
Please don't miss this opportunity to get valuable information and meet the other Room Moms.
Being a Room Mom is very rewarding work... It's seeing the smile that shows we're making school a little more fun --and a child or youth feel a little more comfortable in a wonderful learning environment.
Room Mom Responsibilities & Sample Classroom Communications
PIA is here to support the students, administration, teachers, staff and parents. We stay very busy throughout the year and welcome your involvement and feedback. We need the help of many, many parents and would love to have you come and serve our school and staff - even an hour or two a quarter makes a huge difference! We have fun doing all that we do!
PIA's contributions go on & on. Here are just a few that we have provided for the school...
-
The last 6 years our major fundraiser has made approximately $10,000+ each year!
-
We sponsor Mom's Diner at the Hop-a-thon each year.
-
Through the years we have spent thousands on teacher wish list items. PIA purchased items include: Smart Board for secondary science, start up fee for the athletic web page, Pre-k books and learning toys, play ground filler, projectors and carts, choir cd recorder/player, a salt water fish tank, book shelves for the library, several clasroom cd players, chart stands, music cart, world/us maps, binders, scissors and several pieces of additional cirriculum for the Bible class, class room rugs, cubbies, microscopes, dry erase boards, televisions, counting items, board games, encyclopedias and commentary books for the library, wood chips for the playground, and the drum set for the Worship Band.
-
The last 6 years PIA has been able to give the staff a Christmas Dinner as a gift/night out and have given gifts at the dinner.
-
PIA also gave a gift to those unable to attend the dinner.
-
PIA hosts the Christmas store for the kids to shop for their loved ones.
-
Each year PIA has donated to the Spring Banguet and Auction. Our donations have included a class trip to Incredible Pizza and a sky diving adventure.
-
PIA has hosted the elementary awards reception.
-
PIA has hosted the kindergarten graduation reception.
-
Room moms coordinate all class parties and celebrations.
-
Room moms host a reception in the class rooms for Grandparent's Day.
